Asia Cup 2023: Hardik Pandya Laughs Off False Rain Scare in India vs. Nepal Match

In the Asia Cup 2023, India’s match against Nepal was like the one against Pakistan, which got canceled because of rain. On Monday, during the India vs. Nepal match, rain kept causing interruptions, but the game didn’t get canceled. It did, however, give Hardik Pandya a good laugh!

Hardik Pandya, who is the vice-captain of the Indian men’s cricket team, was seen laughing a lot when there were false alarms about rain during the game. It happened not once but twice.

Even though it rained a bit at different times during the match, it didn’t last long enough to stop the game. This happened twice in just four overs, and it made everyone laugh.

Here’s what happened:

After the 30th over was bowled by Mohammed Siraj, there was a light drizzle. The game stopped briefly, and the ground staff came on the field to cover the pitch. But before they could reach the pitch, the rain stopped, and they quickly went back. The Indian players, who hadn’t left the field, got back to their positions.

In the second instance, just as Ravindra Jadeja was about to bowl the 35th over, there was another light drizzle. The Nepal batters started to run towards the dugout, but the Indian players stayed on the field.

This time, the break was even shorter than the first one, and Hardik Pandya burst into laughter. He laughed, hugged the umpire, and teased him in a playful way. The stumps were taken off for a moment but were quickly put back in place.

Asia Cup 2023: India Versus Nepal

The rain stopped the Asia Cup match between India and Nepal for the second time on Monday.

When the rain started pouring, India was at 17 runs without losing any wickets, and they were chasing 231 runs to win.

Before that, Nepal was batting and had made 178 runs for the loss of six wickets in 37.5 overs when it started raining for the first time during the match. The game started again after about one hour, and no overs were missed.

One of the opening batsmen for Nepal, Aasif Sheikh, scored 58 runs from 97 balls, and Kushal Bhurtel made 38 runs from 25 balls.
