Arteta wants Arsenal to go for the title
Mikel Arteta urges Arsenal to be ruthless in the title race
Gunner’s manager Mikel Arteta has asked his side to be ruthless as they aim to lift the Premier League title. Arsenal maintains a five-point lead over second-place Manchester City. The Spanish manager declared: “We’re not going to stop”.
Gabriel Martinelli emerged a hero as he scored a brace in the 4-0 win over Everton yesterday. Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard contributed with goals of their own.
The Gunners had a slow start to the game against Sean Dyche who plays the Brexit style. Nevertheless, Arsenal managed to win in style and register their third consecutive league win and their 100th league wins over Everton.
Will Arsenal will the Premier League?
In a post-match interview, when asked about being the title challenger, Arteta said: “You know my answer there!
“What I like is that everybody has the enthusiasm to do it, and we’re not going to stop that – we have to promote that. But the way to promote that is by looking at this game and understanding that we have to do a lot of things better, especially in the first half.
“We can play better and make sure we prepare really well against Bournemouth because that’s going to be a tough game.”
Do the Gunners mentally prepared for Pep’s Manchester City?
When asked if his players have the mentality to defeat Manchester City, Arteta said: “It is something that we have to train and discuss and build.
“It is not easy, but a lot of time it happens through experiences, and most of the time they are experiences that you don’t want to go through, but the calendar and fixtures are going to give that. Sometimes you are where we are now, sometimes it is three points [difference], two points, minus two – it is going to happen and we have to live with that.”
