Arsenal target Eric Garcia for summer
Eric Garcia is on Arsenal’s radar
Arsenal has been doing incredibly well this season and are looking like the favorites to win the Premier League. Naturally, Arsenal will look to strengthen their squad come summer as the club will aim higher in Europe next season.
Thus, the Gunners have their eyes set on Eric Garcia of FC Barcelona. The La Masia graduate is back at his home club, but initially left in search of game time. Garcia is familiar with life in England after playing for Manchester City. The young center back spent three years at the Etihad, but broke through in the 2020-21 campaign where he impressed Pep Guardiola with his ball playing ability.
Thus, Arsenal believes the 22-year-old has the understanding of Premier League and can succeed at the Emirates.
Will Eric Garcia leave Barcelona?
Eric Garcia had an impressive start to life at the Camp Nou as he brought in great cover for the injured backline of Barcelona during the Covid era. Since then, the Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order and rarely gets any game time.
Barcelona prefers Kounde, Christensen, Araujo and even the make-shift centre back Marcos Alonso over Eric Garcia. Garcia is currently the least used outfield option in Xavi’s Barcelona with just 1287 minutes to his name.
Thus, he might be open for better opportunities as is believed by his entourage. However, the player himself wants to continue at Barcelona and fight for his place.
