Anthony Davis’ honest opinions about Russell Westbrook’s trade
After passing a difficult phase with the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell Westbrook was finally dealing with Utah Jazz in a three-team swap.
Rus was caught up in a lot of controversies. He was slandered by the analysts and had clashes with teammates and fans. Even got the coaches fired.
Davis talked about his former teammate
As soon as Westbrook got shipped off, the players within the Lakers named the move “addition by subtraction” given how toxic he behaved in the locker room. Lakers forward Anthony Davis, pointed out Westbrook’s era and shared his feelings on his teammates getting moved.
Davis said, “It’s a business.”
“I was kind of in that situation in New Orleans. … We had a conversation today. Not sharing what we talked about but I feel like he’s in a good place mentally. It can weigh on someone when you feel like the world is on your shoulders, from a playing standpoint, a media standpoint, fans, everything.”
Davis said that he knew nothing about the future and particularly about Westbrook, but he wished him the best.
Davis added, “I’m not sure what’s going to happen with him … but he’s in a good place and is just ready to get back to being Russ.”
“Leaving everything behind that he’s had to deal with the past couple of years.”m
AD is not really shy about expressing his dislike toward his teammates. So, we know if this is coming from him, it might be true.
