Another history in NBA: Steph Curry
On Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves are facing each other at the Chase Center. As always, the eyes of the fans were on the Warriors’ star player, Steph Curry, who was on the edge of making NBA history.
During the game between the warriors and Timberwolves, Curry proved once again why he is considered one of the greatest players of all time #GOAT, as he moved up the all-time assists list. He entered the night tied with legend Larry Bird for 47th place with 5,695 assists.
However, he only needed one more assist to overshadow Bird and claim the 47th spot all for himself, he is also closing in on Dwyane Wade’s record of 5,701 assists, which would place him in 46th position on the all-time assists list of the NBA.
Despite being known as the greatest shooter in NBA history, Curry is also an incredible talent for passing the ball, with an average of 6.5 assists per game throughout his career. In this season of NBA 2022-23, he has continued to demonstrate his skills on the court, with an average of 6.3 assists, 29.6 points, and 6.2 rebounds per game in the 49 games he’s played.
And it’s not just his passing skills that have been impressive. Curry has maintained an incredible shooting percentage, with 49.9% from the field and 42.8% from three-point range. At the age of 35, he is still one of the top ten players in the NBA, and he recently led the Warriors to their fourth title in the last eight seasons.
The golden state warriors are now 39-36 W/L in 75 games, making them the 6th seed in the Western Conference and in the final guaranteed playoff spot. They are currently on a three-game winning streak and have won 5 out of their 10 games.
The Warriors have done magnificently on their home court, In the 37 games they’ve played at the Chase Center, they have an incredible record of 30-7. As the Warriors look toward the playoffs, they will surely be counting on their star player Steph Curry to continue making history on the court.
