The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) is a competitive esports circuit featuring the popular battle royale game, Apex Legends. The circuit was established by Respawn Entertainment, the game’s developer, in partnership with Electronic Arts (EA) and Battlefy.
The ALGS consists of online and offline tournaments throughout the year, culminating in a season-ending championship event. The tournaments are open to teams from all around the world, with each region having its own series of events. The regions include North America, Europe, South America, Asia-Pacific South, and Asia-Pacific North.
Teams compete in a series of matches, accumulating points based on their performance, with the top-performing teams advancing to the next round. The final rounds are typically broadcasted live on streaming platforms like Twitch, with commentary from professional casters and analysts.
The ALGS features a prize pool, with the championship event offering the largest share of the prize money. In addition to cash prizes, players can also earn ALGS points, which are used to determine the top-performing teams in each region and qualify them for the championship event. The ALGS has quickly become one of the most popular esports circuits, drawing in large audiences of fans and players from around the world.
