Andrew Wiggins’ Mysterious Absence from Warriors’ Games: What Could Be the Reason?
Andrew Wiggins, the talented forward for the Golden State Warriors, has been absent from the team and out of the lineup for quite some time now. The reason for his prolonged absence is due to a personal family matter, which has kept him away from the court and the team.
Initially, the Warriors listed Wiggins as out for their game against the Clippers on February 14, citing personal reasons. Steve Kerr, the team’s head coach, confirmed that they expected Wiggins to be back in time for their first game after the All-Star break on February 23. However, Wiggins was unable to return to the lineup for that game, and he has not played since.
The Warriors and Wiggins have been tight-lipped about the specifics of his personal family matter. However, his teammates and coaches have been supportive of his decision to take the time he needs to deal with his personal issues.
In a recent statement, Stephen Curry expressed sympathy for Wiggins’ situation, saying, “This is a tough situation in terms of him being away for so long but necessary. Life is bigger than basketball. Whatever he and his family are going through, that’s all that matters. Whenever he’s ready to come back, I’m sure he will.”
While the Warriors are undoubtedly missing Wiggins’ contributions on the court, they understand that his well-being and that of his family are the top priority. As of now, there is no official word on when Wiggins will be back in action.
The Warriors have been playing without Wiggins for 16 games now and have managed to maintain an even record of 8-8 during this latest stretch without him. Nonetheless, they will certainly welcome him back with open arms once he’s ready to return to the team.
As we continue to monitor the situation surrounding Andrew Wiggins’ absence, we will provide updates as soon as they become available.
