American tennis star John Isner becomes the first to win 500 tour-level tie-breaks
During the Dallas Open quarter-finals, the American star tennis player Jhon Isner marked his name in the book of the ATP Tour on Friday. And become the first ever man to enter the list by winning his 500th tour-level tie-breaks.
The record came while playing against Emilio Gomez and won by 7-6(8), 7-5. After the match, Isner questioned how he felt about the record he had made. He stated:
“I’ve won a lot of tie-breaks in my career and in the first set I won a big number of them: 500 of them,” he continues “I’m very glad I didn’t have to win 501.”
If you don’t know Isner is the only player to hold the record of the most aces on the tour more than 14000 aces register in his name.
With 500 career tie-break victories, Isner is just ahead of the Swedish player great Roger Federer in an Open Era List and Pete Sampras in third.
