Alperen Sengun made history on Wednesday night by recording his first career triple-double against the Kings. Houston defeats the Kings with a score of 135–115. Houston has the worst record in the league right now. Despite this, they scored a victory against the Sacramento Kings.

Apart from this achievement, Sengun has become the youngest Houston player to ever achieve a triple-double at the age of 20 and one of the most fabulous and dedicated players.

Alperen Sengun Early Life

Alperen Sengun was born on July 25, 2002, in Giresun, northeastern Turkey. He preferred basketball despite swimming, as he was inspired by watching his older brother play basketball.

He started playing basketball at the age of eight. Earlier, he competed in both sports, but later he decided to go with basketball.

Career

During a youth sports festival, his head coach, Ahmet Gurgen, discovered him. Sengun moved from Giresun to Bandrma to join the youth teams, better known as Banvit. In August 2014, he signed a youth contract with Banvit.

Sengun begins his professional career with Bandrma Krmz in 2018-2019. He is now with the Houston Rockets. He signed a contract with the Rockets on August 7th, 2021, and made his summer league debut with a win of 84–76 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on August 8th.

Sengun is playing his second year, according to his contract of 4 years worth $15.50 million. 

Alperen Sengun was soon named the starting center for the Houston Rockets. He has made the rockets shine this season thanks to his tireless efforts. 

2022–23 Season

In the offseason, the Rockets promoted Sengun as a full-time starter after his teammate Fernando suffered an injury. Sengun contributed to the Houston Rockets and the Rockets won by 118-105 over the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 26, 2022. Sengun scored 21 points and had seven assists in that match.
