With Father’s Day just around the corner, soccer star Alex Morgan from the US Women’s National Team (USWNT) took a moment to give a shoutout to her dad, Mike aka Michael T Morgan, who has been her biggest fan since she was 14 years old.

According to Alex, her dad has never missed a single match, and he’s excited to support her at the upcoming World Cup this summer. “My dad has always been my number one supporter,” Alex said in an interview with FOXSports.com. “It means a lot to me to have him in the stands, cheering for me not just as an athlete, but as a person.”

Alex also shared a funny story about her college days at Cal, where her dad would travel extensively to watch her games, earning tons of Southwest Airlines miles along the way.

“He’s accumulated so many miles during those four years,” Alex laughed. “He loves bringing a big group of friends and family to my tournaments, and he even makes special t-shirts for everyone. But sometimes people don’t like sitting near him because he gets really intense during the games!”

When asked about her dad’s advice and feedback on her performance, Alex joked that he has moved on from giving her pointers. “He used to tell me what I should have done differently on the field,” she said. “But now he’s stopped with the advice. He just prays for my safety and well-being during the games.”

As Father’s Day approaches, Alex Morgan wants to express her gratitude for her dad’s unwavering support throughout her soccer journey.
