Alabama Guard Jahvon Quinerly Transfers to Memphis for Final College Basketball Season

Jahvon Quinerly, the point guard for the University of Alabama basketball team, has announced his decision to transfer to Memphis for his last year of college basketball. Quinerly made the announcement on Twitter, stating that he will be joining the Memphis Tigers for the 2023-24 season.

Quinerly recently visited Memphis and had been linked to the Tigers for a while. The program, led by coach Penny Hardaway, seemed like the perfect fit for him.

In 2018, Quinerly was considered a top recruit and initially played for Villanova. However, he didn’t get much playing time during his freshman year and decided to transfer to Alabama.

After sitting out the 2019-20 season due to transfer rules, Quinerly became an important player for the Crimson Tide. He appeared in a total of 98 games, starting 40 of them, including 27 starts in the 2021-22 season.

Throughout his time at Alabama, Quinerly averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game. He had a shooting percentage of 42.9% from the field, 34.7% from three-point range, and 74.1% from the free-throw line.

Quinerly’s primary goal with Memphis is to help the team secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The Tigers are excited to have him on board and are looking forward to his contributions on the court.
