After USWNT Vs Portugal Draw TV Ratings Are Down For U.S. Women’s Team
After the USWNT vs Portugal disappointing draw, the TV ratings are extremely down for the U.S. Women’s Team in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Four-time World Cup champion USWNT once set the record for the most watched match in the Women’s World Cup opening game with debutant Vietnam.
The more U.S. Women’s teams move forward toward the trophy more it loosens up its grip on fans. Especially after the USWNT with Portugal to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday morning. However, there are still fans out there who are determined to turn on the TV at 3 a.m. in the night.
According to the Fox report, 1,354,000 viewers watched the game, setting a record for the most-watched overnight broadcast in the network’s history. The ratings peaked at 1,731,000 million from 4:45 to 5 a.m.

It’s way less than the last setting record game between USWNT vs Vietnam. Which recorded 6.429 million viewers tuned in to see the contest, with the match peaking at 8.451 million viewers.
Despite being the time zone might be a reason for this major downfall. The USWNT’s other match averaged 4.35 million viewers. Not everybody is an early bird to wake up at such an hour.
No USWNT’s poor performance definitely helped in the lack of viewership. In their last match with Portugal, they almost got them.
In the group play stage, USWNT only posted four goals to date. Nobody wants to watch a soccer game without any goals.
The next match of USWNT with Sweden on Sunday starts at 5 a.m. ET on FOX.
