Adios Kellen Moore, Hello McCarthy to Dallas Cowboys
Stumbled from their latest humiliating playoff defeat, the Dallas Cowboys are busy picking up the lost pieces as they prepare for their 2023 off-season. Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, the Dallas Cowboys, also known as America’s Team, are a professional American football team. As a member club of the National Football Conference (NFC) East division, they participate in the National Football League (NFL). In the past few days, the team has been in the news for making several big announcements which include laying off some of their coaches.
Yesterday at around 10 pm, the Cowboys took yet another big step, and decided to part ways with their offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, under a mutual agreement. Facts state that ever since Moore took over the position, the team of Dallas Cowboys has been among the top offenses in the NFL with an average of 27.7 points per game across Moore’s four seasons, which is the second-most in the NFL since 2019.
“The #Cowboys and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore have mutually agreed to part ways, per sources. Moore is a bright young offensive mind and will have options. But Dallas felt a change was needed after a disappointing finish, and now is looking for a new OC.” Tom Pelissero tweeted.
The head coach of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, Michael John McCarthy, better known by his nickname, Mike, on the other hand, said: “I want to thank Kellen for his deep commitment, hard work, and dedication that were a core part of his time with the Cowboys.” Moore’s position was deliberated in the conversations between McCarthy, Owner Jerry Jones, and Executive Vice President Stephen Jones at The Star for the past 2 days. Fans hailed the tweet in disbelief after this statement came from him.
“Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said that Jerry Jones has told him he wants McCarthy to coach here in Dallas as long as Tom Landry did. Three years down, 26 to go.” Tweets Michael Gehlken.
Now, the team is reportedly to also let go of the quarterback’s coach Doug Nussmeier, while Kellen Moore could soon end up as offensive coordinator with other teams such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Los Angeles Chargers.
The offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys is no longer Kellen Moore.
