Brooklyn Nets coach Jacque Vaughn on a multi-year contract extension
The interim tag has been taken off Jacque Vaughn, who has also signed to an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets. According to a source from ESPN, the agreement keeps Vaughn with the organisation through the 2026–2027 campaign, despite the fact that the team withheld the contract’s details.Even despite the recent departures of marquee stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, who were both moved, Vaughn has been able to maintain the franchise.
When working with the Nets veterans, Vaughn, who back then made the joke that he was the “write-in candidate,” achieved incredible success, finishing 18-2 in December, the finest month in Nets history. Nevertheless, everything started to fall apart after Kevin Durant strained his MCL and Kyrie Irving turned down the Nets’ contract offer. Ultimately, both players were transferred to Phoenix and Dallas, respectively.
Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Dorian Finney-Smith were the items acquired in those transactions, and now Vaughn must use them to rebuild the Nets. The Nets are 2-2 in the four games played since the deals, and Vaughn has a season record of 32-19. After the All-Star Break, the Nets will begin play against the Bulls on Friday in Chicago.
The Nets, who are supported by forwards Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson and centre Nic Claxton, will now strive to maintain their playoff place. Vaughn is in his second season leading the Nets. In 2020, he guided them to a 7-3 record that included a playoff participation at Walt Disney World. From 2012 through 2015, Vaughn coached the Orlando Magic for more than two seasons.
