4 Potential Teams have Emerged for Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards
According to the rumors that have emerged, Bradley Beal might be traded by the Washington Wizards. For the 2023 NBA season, they have decided that if the team changes their roster then the front office will work on a trade for their superstar.
This is a really big deal for the other teams in the league. There are several teams who think they could win a championship if they had a fantastic scorer, and Bradley Beal is exactly what they need.
Unlike the teams trying to trade for Zion Williamson, all the teams wanting Beal have a good chance of winning it all.
Right now, there are four teams that are most likely to get Bradley Beal to join them. Shams Charania from The Athletic says that the Miami Heat are really interested in Beal, and the Milwaukee Bucks are also interested, but to a lesser extent.
Bobby Marks from ESPN says that if Miami wants Beal, they will probably offer a combination of players like Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson, along with a protected top-10 pick in the 2028 draft.
As for the Milwaukee Bucks, it’s unlikely that they can make a trade happen unless another team gets involved. The two best players the Bucks would consider giving up, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, are older than Beal and wouldn’t make sense for a team that wants to rebuild.
If it’s not Miami or Milwaukee, the New York Knicks are also a team that could be interested in Beal. NBA insider Ian Begley says that the Knicks have talked about Beal as a potential trade option for this summer.
Some people might think that the Knicks don’t have enough valuable players to offer in a trade for Beal, but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently suggested that the price for Beal might not be as high as people expect.
“I’m going to tell you if Bradley Beal gets traded between now and next Thursday, I think people are going to be very surprised at the price, and how potentially low it’s going to be,” Windhorst said.
“… I suspect if he gets traded, it would be for a fraction of that [what (Donovan) Mitchell and (Rudy) Gobert were traded for].”
Because of that, it’s also important to keep an eye on the Los Angeles Lakers when it comes to Bradley Beal. In the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets, the Lakers really needed another player who could score.
If the Washington Wizards want to get rid of a player they owe more than $200 million to over the next four years, the Lakers could offer D’Angelo Russell (if they do a sign-and-trade), Malik Beasley with his $16.5 million option, Mo Bamba, Jarred Vanderbilt, this year’s 17th overall draft pick, and some other draft picks.
There have been strong rumors connecting Beal to the Lakers before. He would be a great addition to their team. However, the Lakers are also considering going after Fred VanVleet, and there are two other teams interested in Dejounte Murray from the Atlanta Hawks.
We don’t know yet which player the Lakers will choose to pursue. It’s very likely that Beal will be playing for a different team at the start of the 2023-24 NBA season.
