3 NBA Teams Have Their Eyes on Christian Wood
Christian Wood, a prominent basketball player having a rough time with Dallas Mavericks. Since he joined the team, he’s got into trouble with Jason Kidd, head coach of the Mavs both publicly and in private to the point that even Wood’s playing time in the season was reduced.
Now after all of this, Woods is thing about moving on to the next team. But the question is where will he go after this?
It’s not like he doesn’t have any options. According to rumors, there are 3 NBA teams who might be interested in taking him.
The first team is the Los Angeles Lakers. Wood has been connected to Los Angeles for a long time, but it seems like a better fit now than ever before. Now that Mo Bamba is also thing about leaving the team, and Wenyen Gabriel doesn’t contribute much on offense. Wood could easily fit in with this group and showcase his offensive skills.
Even though Wood’s defense is somewhat lacking but when playing alongside the same player like Anthony Davis who helped the Lakers reach the Western Conference Finals this season, many of those weaknesses won’t stand out as much.
Other than the Lakers, The Miami Heat is also a great fit for Wood. it’s was clear in NBA Finals that 34 years old Kevin Love is not performing at his best anymore and due to this Miami is lacking size so they might be interested in hiring Wood.
Wood could be a perfect match for the Miami Heat, and the team’s ability to maximize their players’ potential could help him improve defensively as well.
Other than that, Phoenix Suns is also one of the NBA teams who are interested in Wood. If their coach, Frank Vogel, can’t convince Deandre Ayton to stay with the team, they will need a replacement in the low post. Ayton’s defense declined significantly throughout the year, so replacing him with Wood wouldn’t be a major setback on the defensive end.
So what do you think where Christian Wood will end up in the end?
