2-Word Message Form Kirk Herbstreit Before Oklahoma-Texas Game
Kirk Herbstreit and the ESPN “College GameDay” team will focus on the Red River Showdown this weekend.
Everyone is so excited about the game between Oklahoma and Texas including Herbstreit, he just shared his excitement about heading to Dallas for the big game between No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 3 Texas this Saturday.
“This is always an incredible scene leading up to @OU_Football @TexasFootball,” Herbstreit wrote on X. “Can’t wait!”

Herbstreit believes this weekend’s Red River Showdown will tell us more about Oklahoma than it will about Texas.
“I feel like we know more about Texas just because of being tested a little bit. I feel like if OU wins this game? They’re, all of a sudden, going to be a major splash on the scene in the college football world,” Herbstreit explained. “Right now, after the year they had last year? I think the college football world is like, ‘I’m not sure, yet, about who they are yet.’ “If they go out and win this game? Their entire world would change drastically because of the attention and the stage that they’re about to step into on Saturday.”
Oddsmakers favor Texas in this game. ESPN’s Football Power Index, however, actually likes Oklahoma to pull off the upset.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on ABC.
