2 NBA Teams are Interested in Boban Marjanovic
Boban Marjanovic is a well-known basketball player and an NBA star. He is known for his impressive height of 7 feet 4 inches, which is similar to the physical abilities of Victor Wembanyama.
While Marjanovic’s skills may not be as good as Wembanyama’s, he can still make valuable efforts coming off the bench and be a positive influence in the team’s locker room at this stage of his career.
As the 2023-24 NBA season comming, two teams are being considered as top teams for Marjanovic’s services. The first team is the Houston Rockets. He was traded there in a deal that also involved Christian Wood going to the Dallas Mavericks. Marjanovic spent most of the season with the Rockets, except for a brief period when he was waived.
Jabari Smith Jr., one of the young stars of the Rockets, described Marjanovic as the best teammate he has ever had, highlighting his positive impact on the team.
“It was so good to have Boban in the locker room, man,” Smith said, per Orazio Cauchi of BasketNews.com. “He’s one of the nicest people in the world, he’s always smiling, cheering you up.
“If he’s having a bad day, you’ll never be able to understand it because he has always this amazing attitude. He was always coming to hug me every single time I stepped into the locker room, making sure I was ok.”
Smith didn’t stop there, though.
“He’s just a great teammate, the best teammate I ever had, I know I’ve been in the league only for one year, but throughout my career, I’ve never met anybody who was that consistent.
“He’s always working in the gym on his game, always nice to all the people he has around. If you want to know how to have a long career in the league, just look at Boban and what he does.”
The Houston Rockets are currently focusing on bringing in experienced veterans to support the development of their young players. This was evident in their signing of Fred VanVleet and in their decision to not pursue James Harden, as they wanted a different approach.
Boban Marjanovic has shown that he fits well with the Rockets and brings the veteran presence that the team needs.
If not the Rockets, another team to keep an eye on is the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers have made several significant re-signings this offseason, including Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and D’Angelo Russell. They also added Gabe Vincent after his impressive performance in the playoffs with the Miami Heat.
However, one position that the Lakers still need to address is backup center. Although they signed Jaxson Hayes, he is not quite as tall as needed for the role.
There has been talk of possibly adding Tristan Thompson to provide more depth at the center position, despite the signing of Hayes. Marjanovic could be a great fit for the Lakers in addressing this need.
